2010-01-05 [windowframe]: date completed: "4 December 2010" ... <_<
2010-01-05 [Linderel]: He's a time traveller, didn't ya know...
2010-01-05 [Viking]: Yep. A time traveler =P
2010-01-05 [Viking]: Actually, sometimes I forget to change the month even when it runs out of days...Odd habit of mine.
2010-01-14 [member181737]: Know of any other good reads close to "Russian Legends..."?
2010-01-14 [Viking]: I don't know of anything quite like it, which is why I spent so much time tracking it down. I can get you some titles of similar, but not quite so specific, works on legends, folklore, etc. later.
2010-01-17 [Viking]: I think Practical Demonkeeping is next...
2010-01-18 [member181737]: I'd very much appreciate that :)
2010-01-21 [Mirime]: I wanted to read Gathering Storm over break but I had to write two essays instead :( I hope Dance with Dragons comes out soon though!
Speaking of Russia, I recommend Night Watch ^_^
2010-01-21 [Viking]: Gathering Storm is definitely worth it if you've gotten that far in the series.
2010-01-21 [Mirime]: Oh yeah, I wouldn't dream of stopping now. I just think I'll have to do a bit of re-reading to refresh my memory... the problem with books being so far apart :/
2010-02-25 [All_Most PUNK]: Bought Moore's "Dirty Job" today.
2010-02-25 [Viking]: I haven't read that one yet. I understand it has a character from Coyote Blue in it.
2010-02-25 [All_Most PUNK]: No idea, it was the one I found by chance in the bookstore.
2010-03-01 [All_Most PUNK]: I finished Dirty Job today. Awesome book. Like it a lot more than Stupidest Angel. A five stars book for me.
Alphonse Rivera appears in Demonkeeping and in Dirty JOb, I think.
2010-03-01 [Viking]: Alphonse Rivera is probably the most common character. He was in Practical Demonkeeping, Coyote Blue, Bloodsucking Fiends, and You Suck. I'm sure he's been in others, too.
I think I'll have to read Dirty Job after I finish You Suck. There's a brief scene in You Suck where Jody (the vampire) meets the main character from Dirty Job...
2010-03-01 [All_Most PUNK]: Right, he says that he's seen a lot of things and now believes in vampires, demons and such.
Charlie?
2010-03-01 [Viking]: Yep. Jody goes into a secondhand store because she's pretty sure that a cigarette case from one of her victims belongs there. She meets Charlie Asher there.
2010-03-01 [All_Most PUNK]: Ah, great. So, Rivera actually appears in Dirty Job before and after meeting the vampire, I guess.
2010-03-01 [Viking]: XD Awesome!
2010-07-23 [*Phoenix*]: Hmmmm. Some of these sound like ones I might want to check out...
2010-07-24 [Viking]: Of course they do!
And I really need to update this page. And write reviews of the books I've read in the last few months.
2010-07-24 [*Phoenix*]: lol. :]
I know what you mean! I've been reviewing a bunch here lately. I only have a few more left to do, then I'm all caught up! Woot!
2010-07-24 [windowframe]: I was going to prod you about, Viking. :3 *demands update*
2010-07-25 [*Phoenix*]: I'll help you SilverFire! *starts poking Viking in the ribs with a pointy stick* heeehe. Fuuunn...
Sorry. I ish a little off today. I'm not sure why...
2010-07-25 [Viking]: Hmm...yeah...I just need to remember what I actually read. If I don't actually write these things down it's easy for me to forget some of them unless someone brings up the title...
2010-07-25 [windowframe]: Stare at your bookshelves? That usually helps me. <_<
2010-07-25 [Viking]: A little problem there...I just mounted some nice shelves on the wall of my living room and am still moving books from bookcases to those shelves. And that means there are lots of piles of books here and there and over there and on top of that table and under the table over there...
Anyhoo, I don't really want to include a book I read a year ago because it happens to be in the same stack as a bunch of books I read earlier this year.
2010-07-27 [Viking]: Hmm...I think that's all of 'em. I might be missing one or two, though. Either way, I'm still a few books behind.
Also, I really need to edit my earlier reviews. Some of them are very poorly written D=
2010-07-27 [*Phoenix*]: Good luck with that! I'm off to read! xD
2010-07-27 [Viking]: Thanks =)
2010-07-27 [*Phoenix*]: Welcomes!
2010-08-05 [Viking]: Well, I'm getting there with the reviews...
2010-08-06 [*Phoenix*]: *claps* You can do it!
2010-09-20 [windowframe]: :O I have She. Haven't read it yet, though.
2010-09-20 [Viking]: It's been slow-going for me. Sometimes the old-fashioned first-person narrative just doesn't keep me interested.
2010-09-20 [windowframe]: If it's anything like King Solomon's Mines or Allan Quatermain I don't have too much trouble with it (the first person narrative), but they're a bit predictable and the two I read were incredibly similar in terms of plot, so I figured I needed to leave it a while before trying another one.
2010-09-20 [Viking]: I'm sure it's very similar to those. I've not read either of them, but I've seen movie versions of both (and She as well). They're all the same type of adventure.
2010-10-19 [Mirime]: Oh! You're going to read She! I just put up a review of one of Haggard's books :) I inherited a whole load of them years ago, from my great-grandfat
2010-10-19 [Viking]: Yeah, it got better. It took me a while to adjust to the style. I also have King Solomon's Mines and I'll probably read that one soon. Of course, I still need to do a few more reviews...
2010-10-20 [Mirime]: Sounds like a plan ^_^
2010-12-31 [Viking]: Looks like 39 is as far as I'm getting this year.
I had hoped for 1 book per week, but ended up with 3 books per 4 weeks. Not bad, really.
